A Universal Model for Non-Procedural Database Languages
We propose a language which can express every computable query. The language is syntactically based on the first-order predicate calculus, but semantically is interpreted as post-conditions, unlike the customary calculus query languages. The language has a capability to restrict itself to reasonable queries, accepting criteria of reasonability as a parameter.
متن کاملThe emergence of procedural conventions in dialogue
A key problem for models of dialogue is to explain how conventions are established and sustained. Existing accounts emphasize the importance of interaction, demonstrating how collaborative feedback leads to more systematized, stable and arbitrary referential conventions. However, co-ordination in dialogue requires both co-ordination of content and of process. To investigate procedural co-ordina...
متن کاملTaiwan Hakka Languages and TWHK_ToBI Annotation Conventions
This paper proposes a preliminary prosodic annotation system for Taiwan Hakka, “Taiwan Hakka Tones and Break Indices” is called TWHK_ToBI. TWHK_ToBI includes five tiers: ortho, words, tones, breaks, and miscellaneous. The ortho tier contains Romanization of each syllable and dictionary-defined tones; the words tier includes alphabetized SAMPA spellings of each word; the tones tier includes the ...
متن کاملRule-Based Expression Mechanisms for Procedural Languages
We report on experiences on adding a rule based expression mechanism to an existing procedural programming language (C++) and on designing and implementing a self-contained language { and its integrated programming environment { supporting similar but more general capabilities. Both languages, XC and XE, are based on abstract data types and XE is a close relative of CLU. Its programming environ...
